I'm sure you are an intelligent man simply misinformed but as you know many old religions, ones even as old or older than Christianity, have accepted homosexuality such as Judaism. Conservative Jews in the 1990s recognized the equality of its congregates regardless of there sexual orientation and also went in favor on record of decriminalizing acts between two consenting adults regardless of sex. Furthermore, Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association have supported for years Rabis performing same sex ceremonies. Buddhism has also been more friendly and open than western religions on this issue. Native American religions have considered homosexuals people with special gifts and often became Shamans for their tribe. Of course you know of the United Church of Christ which on 1972 became the first Christian church to ordain a gay minister. Unitarian Universalist, Episcopal, Unity Church all accept homosexuality.
I end this email to you with this. I can not allow my family to learn hate from the church. I will not be attending your services again and will recommend others do not either. I did learn many things, mostly to love no matter what. Even if I don't understand a persons views I will love them anyway. Please don't teach the children out of ignorance. It is that reason why so many people turn away from the church and its teachings more and more and that is sad.

If you have any knowledge of the scriptures, then you would know that secular "proof" in support of homosexuality is not proof at all. The only authority in religion is the Bible (2 Tim. 3:16-17). Even if most of the world supports homosexuality, does that have any bearing on what God says on the subject? The Lord has already revealed that most people will end up in Hell (Matt. 7:13-14). In fact, He further points out that many people who think of themselves as religious will lose their souls because of disobedience (Matt. 7:21-23). Homosexuality is disobedience (1 Cor. 6:9-10). In fact, homosexuality is so repugnant to God that He said He would turn His back on such individuals who practice homosexuality (Rom. 1:26-32). Notice in that passage that God calls homosexuals vile, shameful and debased. Now that is God's words! God is love (1 John 4:8)! What is love you might ask? 1 Cor. 13:4-7, teaches us the true meaning of love. Notice love does not rejoice in sin as those who practice homosexuality. Notice love does not seek its own as a homosexual does to fulfill his debased desires apart from God's word. When you realize that homosexuals hurt everyone they have sex with (because the sin prevents salvation), then you will know that homosexuals have no love for their partners.
There is no hate here. Not on my part just because I teach what God says and there is certainly no hate from God. Actually, there is only love that I teach you these things for the benefit of your soul's salvation. If I truly hate, then I would remain silent or worse, teach others that homosexuality is acceptable.
