By Steve A. Hamilton Part 2 Introduction: In our first lesson we have proven that Freemasonry is contrary to God’s word. We learned that it is a secret society promoted as a supplement to all religious organizations. It is a self proclaimed religion that promotes lying to hide its true mission. The religion of Freemasonry is complete with temples, worship services and their own creed. If that weren’t bad enough, in this lesson we will learn a few more of their diabolical teachings. I. Masonry claims all truth. A. “Masonry is the legitimate successor – from earliest times the custodian and depository of the great philosophical and religious truths, unknown to the world at large, and handed down from age to age by an unbroken current tradition, embodied in symbols, emblems and allegories.” (Morals and Dogma, p. 210) B. “But masonry teaches, and has preserved in their purity, the cardinal tenets of the old primitive faith, which underlie and are the foundation of all religions.” (Morals and Dogma, p. 161) C. All truth has been given by God in His word. 1. To say God’s word is not complete (i.e. thoroughly furnished) is to lie (2 Tim. 3:16-17). 2. God has revealed all truth to His church (Eph. 3:9-11). 3. God’s word was once delivered to all saints (Jude 3). 4. We must beware of all human teachings (Col. 2:8). II. Masons consider Jesus Christ just another of many moral reformers. A. “Divine or human, inspired or only a reforming essence, it must be agreed that his teachings are far nobler, far purer, far less alloyed with error and imperfection, far less of the earth earthly, than those of Socrates, Plato, Seneca, or Mahomet, or any other of the great moralists and reformers of the world.” (Morals and Dogma, p. 719). B. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and our Savior (1 Tim. 1:15; Matt. 17:5)! III. Hiram Abiff is the redeemer and savior of all Freemasons. A. “Khurum, therefore, improperly called ‘Hiram,’ is Khurom, the same as Herra, Hermes, and Heracles… the personification of light and the son, the mediator, redeemer, and savior.” (Morals and Dogma, p. 79) B. Christ is our mediator and savior. 1. Christ could not mediate if He was not recognized in that capacity by God (1 Tim. 2:5). 2. Jesus Christ is our advocate (1 John 2:1-2). 3. Christ is our savior (2 Tim. 1:10). C. Freemasons lament Hiram Abiff’s death. 1. “Here we reach the most mysterious part of the ancient initiations, and that most interesting to the mason who laments the death of his grand master Khir-om.” (Morals and Dogma, p. 405) 2. No one is our master except Christ (Matt. 23:9-12)? IV. The Lord’s Church is not needed by Masons. A. “… And if man yields himself to it [Masonry], he will need neither churches nor ordinances, except for the expression of his religious homage and gratitude.” (Morals and Dogma, P. 211-212) B. Christ died for the church (Eph. 5:25-27). 1. Obviously, the Mason’s despise the church. 2. No one can be saved outside the church (Acts 2:47). V. Freemasonry claims that only they will be prepared and will enter heaven. A. “But we, as free and accepted Masons, are taught to make use of it for the more noble and glorious purpose of divesting our minds and consciences of all the vice and superfluities of life, thereby fitting ourselves as living stones, for the spiritual building, that house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” (Lightfoot, p.17) B. Did that quote sound familiar (2 Cor. 5:1)? C. “Let him who toils complain not, nor feel humiliated. Let him look up, and see his fellow-workmen there, in God’s eternity: they alone surviving there.” (Morals and Dogma, p. 343). D. No one will go to heaven unless they work through Christ and His Father in heaven (John 14:6; 6:44-45). VI. There are many other errors in Freemasonry. · They participate in idolatry and pagan worship. · They worship Egyptian deities. · They claim that the truth of the gospel is found in many books. · They claim the apostle Paul got his doctrines from Philo. · They claim Plato and Philo were inspired. · They claim Christ’s teachings were the same as Freemasonry. · They teach the Bible is just a symbol of good will. · They swear oaths that no man should utter. · They bow to man and idols. · Etc. VII. Once a Mason, always a Mason. A. Freemasonry does not recognize anyone’s desire to resign. B. “The spirit of the law of Masonry does not recognize the right of any member of a lodge to resign his membership, unless it be for the purpose of uniting with another lodge. This mode of resignation is called a demission.” (Ency. Of Freemasonry, p. 731) C. “A Mason is said to demit from his lodge when he withdraws his membership; and a demit is a document granted by the lodge which certifies that the demission has been accepted by the lodge, and that the demitting brother is clear of the books and in good standing as a Mason. To demit, which I the act of the member, is then to resign; and to grant a demit, which is the act of the lodge, is to grant a certificate that the resignation has been accepted.” (Ency. Of Freemasonry, p. 238) D. No one can serve two masters (Matt. 6:24; Luke 16:13). Conclusion: Regardless of what the Masons might teach, our Lord in heaven allows anyone to resign from being a Freemason. In fact, the Lord requires repentance from all those who have participated in such false religions. |
